The Smartest Way to Prepare for the Australian Citizenship Test 2026

Pass faster by studying chapter by chapter, drilling Australian values, and finishing with full timed mock exams.

Start with the official booklet

Everything you need for the Australian citizenship test is in the testable section of Australian Citizenship: Our Common Bond. Do not try to memorise random internet questions first — read the booklet so every practice answer makes sense.

Focus on the four parts: Australia and its people; democratic beliefs, rights and liberties; government and the law; and Australian values.

Study one topic, then test that topic

The fastest way to remember facts is short study loops. Read one part, write a few notes, then take a mock test that emphasises that topic. Review every wrong answer against the booklet before moving on.

  • Day 1–2: Australia and its people
  • Day 3: Democratic beliefs, rights and liberties
  • Day 4: Government and the law
  • Day 5: Australian values (aim for 100% on values items)
  • Day 6–7: Full timed mock tests

Finish with exam-style timing

The official test is 20 questions in 45 minutes. Once your topic knowledge is solid, sit several full free mock tests without notes. Your goal is a stable score of 16+ out of 20, with all values-style questions correct.
